The main objective of this research is to investigate the comparative effect of knowledge management strategy on the service innovation performance in public and private hospitals through the mediating role of knowledge management practices. Drawing in knowledge management theory, all the organizations require a suitable knowledge management strategy to perform successfully. Therefore, this research focuses on this under-researched subject. This research benefits from quantitative and hypothetical-deductive approach. The sample of the research includes 852 therapy sections of both public and private hospitals in Tabriz. The data was collected via research questionnaire. The data has been analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) methodology. The results indicate a significant positive relationship between the knowledge management strategy and the knowledge management practices. Moreover, the mediating role of knowledge management practices was confirmed in the relationship between knowledge management strategy and service innovation performance in public and private hospitals.

E-businesses play a critical role in today's knowledge-based economies. Despite their increasing portion, e-businesses experience high rates of failure. Therefore, it is of prime importance to identify their decision-making activities encountering outer competitive forces and their internal structural events. In this study, through using the Grounded Theory approach, we analyze interviews conducted by 20 entrepreneurs who have started and run e-businesses, based on an ex-post facto view. We identified preconditions to entrepreneurial decisions to actualize in three steps and their respective sub-activities that are taken during this decision. Decision-making strategies together with contextual and intervening factors that affect the adoption of the mentioned strategies and decision making itself are also identified. Finally, probable outcomes of entrepreneurial decisions are identified and reflected in emerged theory.

Risk is an inherent factor in the traveler's choice of destination. Tourism destinations differ in many aspects including their location, economic condition, cultural and political status and crime. Given such differences, the analysis of destination risk and its dimensions is of substantial interest. The current study explores the risk factors perceived about Iran as a tourism destination using the mixed methods of qualitative content analysis and exploratory/confirmatory factor analysis. The results of qualitative and quantitative studies indicated that the potential tourists perceive eight types of risk factors about Iran, including the risk of human rights violation, satisfaction, inappropriate dress, inaccessibility to cash, crime, communication, securing visa and social risk.

This study aims to investigate the impact of deviation from optimal level of cash holdings on adverse selection and moral hazard problems. The data set includes 106 listed firms of Tehran Stock Exchange during the period of 2005-2016 and both panel data and cross-sectional data multivariate regressions were utilized in different stage of analysis to test the hypotheses. According to the optimal level of cash holdings, firms were divided into two groups of firms with or without excess cash holdings. The results of the study revealed that lower optimal level of cash holdings increases adverse selection. In addition, higher optimal level of cash holdings leads to moral hazard. In other words, the findings confirmed both pecking order and free cash flow theories. The findings imply that there is a positive relationship between information asymmetry and marginal value of cash holdings. Such a relationship will gradually decrease when the firms hold higher than optimal level of cash and translate into a negative one.

In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient mathematical model for the resource-constrained project scheduling problem to optimize makespan and consumption of energy, simultaneously. In the proposed model, resources are speed-scaling machines. The problem is NP-hard in the strong sense. Therefore, a multi-objective fruit fly optimization algorithm (MOFOA) is developed. The MOFOA uses the VIKOR as a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) method to rank solutions in vision-based search procedure. The proposed algorithm is applied to small, medium and large size problems to evaluate its performance. Comprehensive numerical tests are conducted to evaluate the performance of the MOFOA in comparison to three other meta-heuristics in terms of convergence, diversity and computation time. The experimental results significantly show that the proposed algorithm can surpass other methods in terms of most of the metrics. Besides, the results of meta-heuristics are compared with the outputs of GAMS software for small size problems.

In recent years, the importance of branding has dramatically increased on the ground that brands have the potential to be a source of long-term competitive advantages for any businesses. Although it seems that brand value, theoretically, has a significant impact on corporate profits, evaluating the brand value's influence level on corporate profits can give clear signals to both managers and investors to adopt the most accurate and probable decisions. Furthermore, another significant concern of this study is whether considering different types of business matters in such analyses. As a case study, this paper investigates the impact of brand value on corporate profit in two significant industries that operate in the Tehran Stock Exchange, i.e., petrochemical and banking industries which stand for B2B and B2C businesses respectively. To do so, the monthly data from June 2008 to June 2018 in a Panel GMM framework is applied. The results show that the effect of brand value on the profit of both the banking and petrochemical industries are positive and significant. These results also confirm that the effect of brand value on profitability in the B2C businesses (banking industry) is significantly higher, almost double, compared to the B2B (petrochemical industries) business group.

Taking the highly competitive markets into consideration, organizations need to be involved in activities that yield not only high performance, but also a competitive advantage. The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of collaborative structure and competitive intensity in the relationship between process management and organizational performance in Shiraz Municipality. The present research is practical and descriptive-survey in terms of research objective and nature, respectively. Moreover, our statistical population in this research was composed of 80 experts, executive managers, and administrative assistants in Shiraz Municipality. A total of 67 municipal executive managers and experts was selected as the research sample using simple random sampling method and Morgan table.Additionally,a questionnaire with five-point Likert’s scale was employed. Furthermore, Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient was utilized to evaluate the reliability of the questionnaire, the value of which equaled 0.91. The research hypotheses were examined by statistical methods, namely, descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equations, and one-sample t-test. The results indicated that process management has a positive and significant effect on organizational performance due to the mediating role of competitive intensity. It was also concluded that process management positively influences organizational performance due to the mediating role of collaborative structure.Likewise, the research main hypothesis was also confirmed.
