Therefore, this study sought to address the factors of internal and external factors affecting the Sharia equity funds’ performance in Indonesia in the period 2010-2018. The fund performance is measured with the Sharpe ratio. The determinants of fund performance are investment manager’s Stock selection skill, Market timing ability, and Percentage change in asset under management as internal factors. In addition, the selected external factors are Inflation rate and Percentage change in exchange rate. This study adopted panel data analysis using secondary data of 8 selected samples of Sharia equity funds. The results revealed that investment manager’s Stock selection skill, Percentage change in asset under management, and Inflation rate positively and significantly affect performance of Sharia equity funds. On the other hand, investment manager’s Market timing ability insignificantly affects Sharia equity fund performance. While, Percentage change in exchange rate negatively and significantly affects Sharia Equity Funds Performance.}, keywords = {Sharpe ratio,Stock selection skill,Market timing ability,Inflation rate,Exchange rate}, url = {https://ijms.ut.ac.ir/article_71509.html}, eprint = {https://ijms.ut.ac.ir/article_71509_77583e999eb7d983d943bbb1ccb67aa7.pdf} } @article { author = {Nasseri, Seyed Hadi and Kiaei, Hamid}, title = {The New Neutral Secondary Goal based on Ideal DMU Evaluation in‏‎‎ Cross-Efficiency}, journal = {Interdisciplinary Journal of Management Studies (Formerly known as Iranian Journal of Management Studies)}, volume = {12}, number = {4}, pages = {509-530}, year = {2019}, publisher = {University of Tehran}, issn = {2981-0795}, eissn = {2981-0795}, doi = {10.22059/ijms.2019.271179.673434}, abstract = {Cross-efficiency is a famous ranking method for data envelopment analysis (DEA) that deletes unrealistic weights pattern with no need to a priori information ‎related ‎to ‎weights ‎restrictions. ‎This‎ method analyzes each decision making unit (DMU) taking into account the best weights resulted from assessing other DMUs. In cross-efficiency evaluation, secondary goals such as aggressiveness, benevolence and neutrality are used because there are alternative optimal solutions. The neutral secondary goal makes the decision maker have no problem in selecting the aggressive and benevolent secondary goals. In the article at hand, a new secondary purpose is introduced which ‎selects the ‎ ‎optimal ‎weight ‎among the ‎multiple‎ optimal ‎weights based on the evaluation of ideal virtual DMUs corresponding ‎to ‎each ‎DMU. Since this kind of ‎weight selection does not lead to any increase or decrease in other DMUs’ cross-efficiency, the new secondary goal is neutral. The advantage of this method over other methods is that the selected ‎weights are the best ‎possible weights, because it maximizes the ideal virtual DMUs’ efficiciency score corresponding ‎to ‎each ‎DMU. ‎For this purpose‎, some examples are used to illustrate  its difference with other methods‎.}, keywords = {Data Envelopment Analysis,Cross-efficiecny,Neutral secondary goal,Ideal virtual DMUs,Ranking‎}, url = {https://ijms.ut.ac.ir/article_71984.html}, eprint = {https://ijms.ut.ac.ir/article_71984_5072197f32f80831635dd32bbb523e44.pdf} } @article { author = {Osman, Abu Rashed and Ashraf, Mohammad Ali}, title = {The Mediating Role of Placement in Service Quality of Education: From International Students’ Perspective}, journal = {Interdisciplinary Journal of Management Studies (Formerly known as Iranian Journal of Management Studies)}, volume = {12}, number = {4}, pages = {531-558}, year = {2019}, publisher = {University of Tehran}, issn = {2981-0795}, eissn = {2981-0795}, doi = {10.22059/ijms.2019.241179.672812}, abstract = {The drive of this investigation is to diagnose the mediation effect of placement between program quality, industrial link, student satisfaction, and service quality in the circumstance of tertiary education in Malaysia. Using the Cue Utilization theory, the proposed model is tested employing data collected from 173 international students who are pursuing study at University Utara Malaysia through the convenient sampling approach. The analysis is conducted through the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).The goodness of fit model is ensured through RMSEA (< 0.08), CFI (> 0.90), and Chisq/Df ratio (< 5.0) fit indices. The findings reveal that placement mediates fully between industrial link and service quality of education. However, placement does not confirm any significant mediation effects between program quality, student satisfaction and service quality. Results give the impression to suggest that program quality and student satisfaction are influencing service quality directly and significantly. In a dual-channel sales network, the products are sold through both a traditional, physical retailer and a direct Internet channel. It is assumed that the retailer is the leader and the powerful member of the supply chain has the market power and acts as a leader and proposes his/her inventory policies and dollar-markup and the manufacturer, as a follower, will decide on the wholesale price and the price of Internet channel as well as the inventory quantity of online store based on the retailer’s decisions. The situation is formulated as a bi-level programming problem, and it is converted to a single level model using Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions. The single level problem is solved using the α-Branch and Bound (α-BB) algorithm. We investigate the significance of customers’ channel preference on adopting an online channel by the manufacturer. We show that an online channel is not always detrimental to a retailer, but in a Pareto-zone, a range or zone of customers’ channel preference, both supply chain members benefit from newly added sales channel.}, keywords = {Retail supply chain,Dual-channel supply chain,Channel completion,Dominant Retailer,α-Branch and Bound}, url = {https://ijms.ut.ac.ir/article_72548.html}, eprint = {https://ijms.ut.ac.ir/article_72548_b35a04ef44e025bd980ec6db5efb8012.pdf} } @article { author = {Khursheed, Ambreen and Mustafa, Faisal and Fatima, Maham and Khalid, Faiza}, title = {Antecedents of Entrepreneurial Intentions: A Cross-Country Study of Northern Europe and the Danube Region}, journal = {Interdisciplinary Journal of Management Studies (Formerly known as Iranian Journal of Management Studies)}, volume = {12}, number = {4}, pages = {593-627}, year = {2019}, publisher = {University of Tehran}, issn = {2981-0795}, eissn = {2981-0795}, doi = {10.22059/ijms.2019.265108.673301}, abstract = {The increasing importance of entrepreneurship for flourishing economic progression, innovation and job creation have raised the concerns of decision makers and researchers for the investigation of the dynamics that could have an influence on the entrepreneurial activity levels. Indeed, transformations in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial activity levels are considerable, persistent and distinctive in their history in different regions, particularly in Europe. This study extends Ajzen’s (1991) theory of planned behavior by developing a highly integrated conceptual framework to analyze the entrepreneurial intentions by analyzing individualistic and collectivistic dimensions to entrepreneurship. This framework determines how both dimensions influence the entrepreneurial intentions. This incorporates the significant role of individualism and collectivism along with entrepreneurial capability, social status and social norms across European countries. The study analyzed the cross-cultural applicability of the proposed model across Northern Europe and the Danube Region by using Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) databases. Structural equation modeling is applied to overcome the limitations of past research studies. The study also provides practical implications for entrepreneurship academicians and policy makers. The second aim is to propose a provincial model of human resources empowerment for managers and executives. To collect data, a qualitative research approach including semi-structured interviews and content analysis was used. The research sample consists of 27 managers who were recruited by purposive sampling method from an Iranian organization in public sector. The results of interviews revealed that there is a practical gap between current effectiveness of human resources empowerment in the studied organization and the optimal effectiveness suggested by the national model. In addition, content analysis showed that lack of a systematic and trackable plan of human resources empowerment had stopped the implementation of empowerment strategies. This provincial empowerment model can be used to keep managers motivated and efficient where regional, social and cultural values are considered important in the workplace. Moreover, it could be used to remove the gap between current effectiveness in studied organization and the optimal effectiveness indicated in national model through more motivated and empowered managers. This provincial empowerment model can be used to keep managers motivated and efficient where regional, social and cultural values are considered important in the workplace. Nevertheless, despite the government and the Ministry of Industry's emphasis as well as the efforts of Iranian companies to attract foreign partners, this is less common in Iranian home appliance industry, which indicates the risks for foreign investors. Accordingly, the present study aims to identify and model the risks that foreign investors face through a Strategic Alliance with local companies in the Iranian home appliance industry. Hence, the Strategic Alliance risks are investigated through semi-structured interviews with 20 industry experts and the use of qualitative content analysis, and next, the extracted factors are validated by the academic and industry experts' views using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The final model is proposed using Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). The research results demonstrate 9 major risk factors in the formation stage, 13 risk factors in operational stage and 6 risk factors in the termination stage of strategic alliance lifecycle.
