Abstract

The current study seeks to investigate the effect of entrepreneurship education in empowering the entrepreneurial behavior of sports science university students with the mediating role of digital literacy. The sample includes 387 randomly selected students from Tehran universities. Data were collected using a 29-item questionnaire rated on a 5-point Likert scale. Hypotheses were tested using Partial Least Squares (PLS) via Smart PLS 3. Results show that entrepreneurship education significantly enhances digital literacy (β = 0.746, t = 24.291), which in turn positively affects entrepreneurial behavior (β = 0.480, t = 9.098). Additionally, entrepreneurship education directly impacts entrepreneurial behavior (β = 0.429, t = 7.773). The study’s innovation lies in linking sports science education with entrepreneurship and digital skills, highlighting that digital literacy strengthens the effect of entrepreneurship education. These insights are valuable for curriculum developers and policymakers aiming to foster entrepreneurial competencies in sports science through digital empowerment.
